Special Speakers at Next Round of Classes!
We have been hearing about the 2008 farm bill for a long time. As we look at the challenges ahead, the programs that are offered through the Farm Service Agency may be of use. The problem is understanding all the long term effect some of these programs will have on the farm business.
The program names SURE, ACRE, LDPs, and MILC have made the news, but do we really know what they mean and how they will affect our farms?
Risk management is a buzz word for security in a volatile market place. Many operations are looking for security to get the needed financing and build equity for long term success.
I have invited the county FSA directors to talk to us at our night class. Now the FSA county directors are willing to share the details with you as Farm Business & Production Management Students. Pete Peters from Winnebago County will be at the Winchester class, Monday, January 26, 2009. Waupaca county will be represented by Dave Heideman who will be at the Waupaca and Manawa classes on Thursday, January 29. They will discuss the changes and new programs available through FSA. This time will be followed by at time for questions and discussion.
